Mr. Mike
I watched all the Kojak movies in January 2017. I think most are of high quality. The Kario Salem guy who was Stevens in Season 8 Episode Classic HFO plays a detective in the movies. I think the Ariana one is the weakest of the 9 but still good. 6 stars for The Belarus File, The Price Of Justice, and Fatal Flaw my highest rating. Yeah, you are right 8 movies.

Saw the first KOJAK episode "Siege of Terror". It was a pretty good hostage drama. Nothing as intense or satisfying as FIVE-O's "The Box" but then that's a rare gem that comes around only once in a lifetime, and we'll never have another Big Chicken again.
I couldn't help but feel that the movie DOG DAY AFTERNOON which came out 2 years later may have been inspired by this episode. You've got the gritty streets of 70s New York, a robbery gone wrong, a hostage situation in a store (it was a bank in the film), a volatile hostage-taker, negotiations between the cops and the crooks, a media circus outside with large crowds and news crews everywhere, even the demand to be taken to the airport where an airplane is to be provided to the crooks. Plus Harvey Keitel, like Pacino, tended to play Italians an awful lot (even though he's really a Jew).
