I agree Carole! I know the region 1 release is 31st July, but am unable to get any info on a region 2 release date [I tried the zetaminor web-site, amazon.co.uk and play.com etc]. Hopefully we won't have to wait longer than August or sept on this side of the Atlantic? http://www.freewebs.com/thepersuadersreviews

Five-0 returned to TV in England on the now defunct Granada Plus in the mid 90s. Since then I have been waiting and waiting for the series to come out on dvd. Now my wait is over. I have just watched the first season release and, like the mid 90s rerun, it has 'activated' me again as a fan. I love it! Such high production values, it has stood the test of time, Jack Lord is a joy to watch and, of course, the cars are now classics! Can't wait for season 2!

My husband and I are so thrilled to finally get Hawaii Five-0 on DVD!!! We have been waiting on this forever. We have only had time to watch about half of the episodes, but so far, the quality of the picture and sound are wonderful. We are eagerly awaiting the Second Season release in July 2007! Book 'em, Dano!

Thanks for putting together this great website. Now that the DVDs are being released, I am going to watch all of them since I did not watch the episodes too often even though I grew up in Hawaii. It's really neat to see and remember what Hawaii was like back in the days they filmed the series. It's funny to see the Five-O gang sometimes driving the opposite directions of the way the street traffic is today. Anyway, most of the episodes were quite entertaing. It's also great to see a lot of actors from the 70's and 80's, since so many famous faces appeared on the show. Thanks again for the interesting and informative website!

Hawaii 5-0 has always been my favorite show-maybe because I love the islands so much. I am watching the first season in preparation of my visit to Oahu in July. Thanks for this site. It's great

I absolutely loved the first season of Hawaii Five O. I always got a kick out of McGarrett saying, "Book 'em Danno!"

It has been a really long time since I saw this show. I really forgot how great the show was. They did not have teh modern technology to solve crime they use today, they really had to use their common sense. I really enjoy the first season and can;t wait till the second comes out.

There was a heavy set Hawaiin guy named Mateliko Tuaileva. I don't think he was a regular in every show. Anyone ever hear of him?

I was very young when I watched this awsome show!!! I was in love with Jack Lord (as much as you can at 6). So much that I used to tell everyone I was going to Hawaii and marry him. And at every shows end, I was so concerned for the fellas in the boat (I thought that part of the show was live not taped), I used to yell out "take it easy guys"!!. This is and was a television treasure. It is wonderful we all can enjoy watching Hawaii Five O all over again. *sigh* he was so handsome!!!

This is my alltime favorite show, and none of my local stations or cable TV stations are airing it anymore.Getting this disc set for my anniversary was the best gift my husband could ever have gotten for me! I love it!

The final song Tommy Sands sings in "No Blue Skies" is "I'll Remember You", an old Hawaiian standard. I know that Don Ho recorded it many years ago, as well...:-)

Might anyone know? On " No More Blue Skys" , the final song Tommy Sands sings before he reaps the fruit of "lousey odds", what is the name of that song? Was it one of Mr. Sands hits? Sounds like it was from the early 1960's.

While I find even season 12 to be somewhat watchable, I'll agree with those that say the first four seasons were best, AKA The "Kono Years". IMO they never found a suitable replacement for Kono, even the always-reliable Duke didn't endear himself to me like Kono. BTW, season two is listed as a six disc set. Shouldn't that be seven discs, like the first season? Maybe we will be denied "Bored, She Hung Herself"...

I just finished watching the Season 1 set and it's great! As true Five-O fans, we've waited a long time for this (like McGarrett finally nailing Wo Fat) and it's well worth the wait. I had never seen Cocoon in its full version, and the sound quality & picture is incredible. Nice thing is that several episodes that for one reason or another never made it into syndication are on here, and to me - to us for that matter, they're new! Loved King of the Hill & the Box, real white-knuckle, edge of your seat thrillers. Yesterday Died... after Steve was shot, Danno took charge; Once Upon a Time 1 & 2 - great emotion in his office when his baby nephew died. I agree with a previous poster, the early seasons are when Five-O was at its peak. Can't wait for Season 2 next month. Be there, aloha!

As someone said, I think the early seasons are the best. The longer Jack's sideburns got (*combed* sideburns?!), the more he used makeup to darken the cleft in his chin, the bigger the lock of hair over his forehead, the more formula the shows got. Still and all: good plots, good acting, nice people -- and an unbeatable themesong!

The first season DVD's are alot clearer and sharper than the videos (VHS). They capture quite well. There was some scenes that I didn't remember seeing while it was in "rerun" mode.
