I refuse to say goodbye to the one & only GREAT actor that God put on this earth. Jack Lord was & always will be the BEST. I have loved that man ever since I was 8 years old when he played the part of "Stoney Burke" in 1962. He was the best in that so how do you get better, well, I've always heard that the older you get...the better. So what else can I say..God took the best on January 21, 1998. I am very thankful for every day that I got to watch that man on TV. And I am also grateful to his wife for sharing him with us. Via con dios Jack Lord aka Steve McGarrett for there will never be anyone else who can ever take your place in my heart or in show business. You were the BEST!!! Thank you bruddah for the love and happiness you gave me.

Jack Lord was and is my favorite all-time actor and needless to say, Hawaii 5-O is my very favorite - bar none - TV show. I am fortunate in that the Family Channel runs it 5 nights a week here in Nashville and what I don't watch, I tape. Jack Lord stood for integrity both personally and in the show and the world was better for having him around and he will be sorely missed. Barbara

Mr. Lord is a beacon of integrity and humanity for all time! He deserves to be honored with a United States Postage Stamp. I would love to work with other fans on this idea. kaylrob@aol.com

Hawaii Five-O was part of our growing up amidst the beautiful Hawaiian scenery and the clever plots which so much enhanced our own reasoning abilities. Great show, great fun! And, especially, since it taught us so much about moral values, the value of friendship and honesty. We need more of that on TV today because we need more of that in real life! We hope to see a big-screen movie of it - although it won't be quite the same without Jack Lord...

"HAWAII FIVE-O" has always been my favorite television show of all-time. When I heard of Jack Lord's death over the radio airwaves I was deeply saddened. May he rest in peace with love. Jack Lord was one of the best ever! Long live Steve McGarrett!!!

Jack Lord was always a special favorite of mine, from the time I first discovered him on "Stony Burke". I enjoyed him in that role so much, that I found it hard to believe that it only lasted one year. The show was rich with character, not only that of the lead character, but also the characters played by Bruce Dern and Warren Oates. That story still fascinates me to this day, because westerns have always been irrisistable to me. I have always wondered what ever happened to those episodes. As much as I appreciated Jack as Steve McGarrett, my mind always returns to my memories of him as the appealing Stony Burke. It has always been my wish that someday someone would resurrect those episodes for those of us who cannot forget!

I keep reading that Jack Lord has this disease or that disease. I was wondering why his chest looked so puffed out in his suits. If you looked at one of his nostrils one is crooked. Did he have some kind of heart disease? Also whatever happened to the district attorney?

Back in the mid 1970s my family would always stay at the Kahala Hilton for an annual holiday in August. As a 12 year old fan of the series, I would often see James MacArthur strolling around the hotel pool and Jack Lord wandering around the beach front, as his condominium was situated next door to the hotel. I now regret very much not having had the courage to approach Jack Lord for his autograph. His death is certainly a great loss and I was deeply saddened by the news. Long may Five-0 continue to run and may Jack Lord live on in all our memories.Aloha Mr Lord

Time is such a strange thing, if a thing at all.Years... decades can be compressed into a single solitary thought. Now a man with a family of my own I think back to the days of when I was a little boy sitting on my grandfather's knee, illuminated by the glow of a three station, black and white television set. One staple of my grandfather's television viewing was that of Hawaii Five-O. These fictional characters embedded in a youngster many ideals and values that are still present as I write this. Through the years there were several times when a rumor was sent about the death of Jack Lord. Through these years I had kept some sort of wonderment as to whether they were true. Now it is real and the cycle of life continues. To the memory of Jack Lord, Thank You for being partially responsible as to whom a kid from the city of Buffalo turned out to be.

I am a relative newcomer to five-o, seeing the show for the first time on the family channel this past year. I was immediately taken by the show and especially Jack Lord. Although I am deeply saddened at his passing, I am grateful he left such a complete legacy through his consistent and wonderful portrayal of Steve McGarrett. Finally this page is a cornucopia of info on the show! Keep up the great work!

This page is fantastic! When I entered "Hawaii Five-0 on Alta Vista, I didn't seriously expect to find anything, and here is this wonderful site! "Hawaii Five-0" is a great memory for me. I was eleven years old when it started, so I grew up with the show. It has always been one of my favourites. As a life-long comic book fan, I always wanted to see a "Five-0" comic book like so many other shows had, but, alas, there never was one. I dearly wish that there was a channel in Canada that ran the show; I haven't seen it in years, now. Anyway, love the site and keep up the great work!

In my life I have had three people I have looked up to in the TV world. Captain Kirk(Star Trek), Zeb Macahan(How The West Was Won) and, of course, Steve McGarrett. When ever i am with strangers, or friends, and the discussion comes around to "who do you think could have solved the OJ SIMPSON case." Only two TV COPS come to mind...Steve McGARRETT and Columbo. Steve's ability to marshall his team, and be a strong leader, has been and never will be equaled on TV. You knew that if HAWAII FIVE O was real, and you saw the begining of an episode..you KNEW that McGARRETT would solve it...no doubt. He was a fixture in our houses in the 1970s when our country was healing from Watergate and Viet-Nam. Our world sucked!!! But you knew that right after the WALTONS were over, you could dive into a fictious world where crime was held in check by McGARRETT and his team. Sure, in real life, maybe his fellow actors thought he was a hardass. You know what? I think it was his "hardass" will that assured that HAWAII FIVE O didnt become another dumb cop show like STARSKY AND HUTCH or CHIPS. And, in the history of TV, was there ever a better rivalry than McGARRETT and WOFAT? Im sure, with both actors gone now, GOD has them making all new adventures for those up in heaven. I looked forward to a new HAWAII FIVE O but now..i think it would be a mistake. The new show would never ever have the strong center like McGARRETT and would just be a dumb show that would showcase the tits and ass that we see ALL over TV now. MAGNUM PI was the perfect sequal to FIVE-O. But it was never the show of HAWAII that FIVE-O was. In closing..Jack Lord (yes i know that wa McGARRET's real name) created a man in McGARRETT who had strong morals..and who would stop at nothing..NOTHING..to solve the crime. It is McGARRET's old fashion cowboy stoicness that sets him in a class...a class...all...by...him...self. Hey Jack...thanks,,,and...Aloha brother!!!!

I was deeply saddened to hear that Jack Lord has passed away. I was almost five when the first episode of HAWAII FIVE-0 aired. By 1971,it had become my favorite show, and will remain so forever. I first learned of the page last November, but have not had access to it until now. As Steve Mc Garrett, Jack stood for honesty, integrity, and morality. The modern police dramas pale in comparison. The show had the right combination of actors, writers, and the beautiful island of Oahu,to make it truly unbeatable.I wish I could have met him in person. I may soon be moving to Oahu, and look forward to joining the organization of fans and visiting spots where filming occured. Despite much new construction, many places will undoubtedly remain. I would like to meet as many of the cast members as possible. James Mc Arthur in California, Kam Fong,Zulu, Herman Wedemeyer, Al Harrington, Doug Mossman, and Moe Keale in Hawaii. Moving to Hawaii will fulfill a long time dream of mine. I treasure my video tape collection of Hawaii Five-O. My prayers go out to Marie, that she have strength and courage, and to all relatives and friends of the family. Although I never met Jack, I will always think of him as a dear friend.Aloha, Jack. Sincerely, David Gasperetti.

There is only one "Hawaii Five-0", and it is the classic, genuine, original, 1968-1980 series that I loved to watch for so many years. Classic as Coca-Cola, Jack Lord was the best fixture for the show. I still watch the show on The Family Channel. Jack Lord will be missed by many and all. Rest in Peace, Jack. Aloha, Marie.

When hearing of Jack Lord's death I felt I had lost someone I had personally known.I watched Hawaii Five O faithfully during its time on television. It was that program that inspired me to want to visit our 50th state. In July of 1979 my then husband and I went to Hawaii to celebrate our 12 wedding anniversary. As we flew in over Diamond Head, I couldn't believe I was actually seeing Hawaii with my own eyes. The whole trip was nothing less than perfect. I found myself looking for "Steve McGarrett". Hawaii was beautiful but her people and the atmosphere in which we found ourselves was so tranquil. It was Hawaii Five O and Jack Lord that summonds me to that beautiful place called Paradise and I thank you Jack. I have missed you ever since you left our television screen. God Bless the family.

Jack Lord as our beloved Steve Mcgarrett was truly the reason the show was so successful. As much as we loved Danno, Chin and Kono it was McGarrett that we truly tunewd in for. We will miss Jack, and his many fans shed a collective tear for him! Aloho Brother and may you continue to "book em" forever. I was truly saddened to hear of the death of Jack Lord. He was a true hero of mine and many of my teenage memories involve staying up late watching re-runs of H50 and driving around in a car blaring the H50 theme song. Rest in peace brudda, aloha !!

Best five-o site I can find. I never seen Hawaii Five-O Until this past November. I am only 21 so I was to young to have seen it when it was being aired. But know I watch all of the repeats on WKDB 20 in Detriot. The first time I seen Jack Lord it was a fullsize picture in Planet Hollywood in Hawaii. Ever since been a huge fan. Keep up the good work on the site.

I arrived at your excellent home page because of my (almost) life-long devotion to Lyle Bettger. I've been collecting Lyle trivia (including clips from tv guide that listed his movies) for years, and have a couple autographed pictures. I've also collected (and taped) a number of his movies. I'm new to the net (about a month) and found that very little of what I got from a web search added to my information about Lyle. But I will thoroughly search your data base to supplement my 5-0 credits. I'd actually like to produce a Lyle Bettger home page, although I'm sure it would have an extremely limited audience...just so I could organize and display what I know about him. I could probably even scan my two autographed pictures...? I believe he's still alive; he'd be 82 this month...and the celebrity address book I purchased says he lives in Hawaii! I've always been a 5-0 fan, although certainly not to your level! Your pageis outstanding...a model for the obsessed fan! I am 57, just retired from 30 years as a software writer for IBM...so by most accounts, I'm normal. Except for my Lyle Bettger obsession! Thanks... Chuck Sumner (cds71@aol.com)

As I watch the reruns of "Hawaii Five-O" on the Family Channel I relize what a great loss the world has suffered. The world lost a great painter, hero, best actor around, and a role model for actors and actresses and many other people to come. God Bless you Jack Lord for changing the world for the better. You will remain in the memory of many.

There will never be another show like Hawaii-Five O. Jack Lord made the role of Steve McGarrett so real for his fans. He was an exceptional actor and will be truly missed. I take comfort in knowing that I can always watch the late night reruns of the show and hear him say "Book'em Danno."

What a sad news I only aware about in the French newspaper. Things came so fast as I read most of the 'Hawaii Five 'O'' webpages only 2 weeks ago. Now, sir Jack Lord miss all of us from France who follow all his enquiries from his recent revival TV show on TF1 channel. I was actually willing to go to the next Five 'O' convention, and telling friends about sir Jack disease, but now I radically collapsed. I think he'll always stay with us, taking care about a great paradise that he's still living there. Heard that on May, 7th is 'Jack Lord's day' in Oahu/Hawaii, but quite before that day,I would like to offer all my condolences from all fans in France to mrs Mary Lord & all the family. May sir Jack Lord rest in peace and quiet. Mahalo Jack forever with us !

We travel to Hawaii as often as possible. We used to enjoy seeing the Al Harrington show. First under the stars, once a week, at the Hale Koa military hotel, and then later at the theater down town. For a couple of years now he has been gone. When we ask the locals what happened to him, no one seems to know. Some even say Al who? Your locator is out of date to say the least. Has Al gone into the witness protection program or what!? Seriously, any news? V/R Ron & Sue Young

I have been a fan of Jack Lord all my life. I was deeply saddened to hear of his death. He made so many people happy with his million-dollar smile and his many great talents, while keeping a low profile and loving his wife. Men like him are so rare. He will be missed but he is immortal in my thoughts. Thankfully we have his movies and Hawaii Five-O to keep him alive and forever young.

I had always held out hope that they would make a "good" movie of Hawaii 5-0 with all the original cast members but now that will not be possible. The show was and always will be my favorite. Jack Lord's tough image against criminals is hard to duplicate. I give a lot of credit to the Family Channel for what they are doing with the show. It would be interesting to see a biography of Jack and the show. As others have written HE was 5-0. Keep up the good work on this site. I check it often. God Bless Jack and Marie Lord.
